Benefits of a monthly pass

Monthly Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North passes are good for unlimited rides during the calendar month indicated on the ticket. This is the most cost-effective ticket if you’re commuting each day.

If you ride LIRR or Metro-North regularly, a monthly pass is an easier option — you won't have to buy a ticket each time you travel.

Monthly riders can also take advantage of seasonal deals, including Autumn Weekends and Friends and Family Wednesdays, which are in effect through the fall.

Monthly deals

  • On Wednesdays through October 27, monthly ticket holders may bring one additional person on board for $1.
  • On Saturdays and Sundays through November 21, monthly LIRR and Metro-North passes will be honored system-wide, valid for travel to all stations and fare zones.

Fidelity® Rewards Visa Signature® Card

We may change APRs, fees, and other Account terms in the future based on your experience with Elan Financial Services and its affiliates as provided under the Cardmember Agreement and applicable law.

1. You will earn 2 Points per dollar in eligible net purchases (net purchases are purchases minus credits and returns) that you charge. Account must be open and in good standing to earn and redeem rewards and benefits. Upon approval, refer to your Program Rules for additional information. You may not redeem Reward Points, and you will immediately lose all of your Reward Points, if your Account is closed to future transactions (including, but not limited to, due to Program misuse, failure to pay, bankruptcy, or death). Reward Points will not expire as long as your Account remains open. Certain transactions are not eligible for Reward Points, including Advances (as defined in the Agreement, including wire transfers, travelers checks, money orders, foreign cash transactions, betting transactions, lottery tickets and ATM disbursements), Annual Fee, convenience checks, balance transfers, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, overdraft advances, interest charges, fees, credit insurance charges, transactions to fund certain prepaid card products, U.S. Mint purchases, or transactions to purchase cash convertible items. The 2% cash back rewards value applies only to Points redeemed for a deposit into an eligible Fidelity account. The redemption value is different if you choose to redeem your Points for other rewards such as travel options, merchandise, gift cards, and/or statement credit. Other restrictions apply. Full details appear in the Program Rules new card customers receive with their card. Establishment or ownership of a Fidelity account or other relationship with Fidelity Investments is not required to obtain a card or to be eligible to use Points to obtain any rewards offered under the program other than Fidelity Rewards.

2.

Because the interest and other fees charged on any outstanding balance are greater than the cash value of the rewards points, you may pay more in fees and interest than the value of the points you earn if you do not pay your bill in full each month.

3.

To receive a deposit, you must link your eligible Fidelity® account to your card. This can be accomplished in any of following ways. 1. You may contact Elan Financial Services Customer Service at the toll-free phone number located on the back of your credit card and provide them with your eligible Fidelity® account (s) number. 2. Simply select the “Manage Reward Points” hyperlink from the credit card snapshot page on Fidelity.com and follow the easy steps. You may also watch a brief video that describes the linking process on the credit card snapshot page also found on Fidelity.com. Please note that automatic redemptions will occur on a monthly basis as long as you have reached the point redemption threshold of 2,500 Points.

4.

Eligible accounts include most nonretirement registrations as well as Traditional IRA, Roth IRA, Rollover IRA, SEP IRA, Fidelity Charitable® Giving Account®, Fidelity HSA®, and Fidelity®-managed 529 College Savings Plan accounts. The ability to contribute to an IRA or 529 college savings plan account is subject to IRS rules and specific program policies, including those on eligibility and annual and maximum contribution limits. Full details appear in the Program Guidelines new card customers receive with their card. Contributions to Fidelity Charitable® are generally eligible for a federal income tax charitable deduction. Please consult with your tax advisor. The list of eligible registration types may change without notice at Fidelity’s sole discretion. For more information about whether a particular registration is eligible, please call 1-800-FIDELITY (800-343-3548).

5. Certain restrictions apply to each benefit. Details accompany new account materials.

6.

Elan Financial Services provides zero fraud liability for unauthorized transactions. Cardmember must notify Elan Financial Services promptly of any unauthorized use. Certain conditions and limitations may apply.

7.

Cardmembers are responsible for the cost of any goods or services purchased by the Visa Signature Concierge on cardmembers’ behalf.

8. Fidelity Rewards+ generally requires $250,000 invested through Fidelity® Wealth Services, Fidelity® Strategic Disciplines, or a combination of both registered as an individual account, a joint account, or certain types of revocable trusts. Assets in other registration types, such as irrevocable trusts, partnerships, or LLCs, will not be included when determining program eligibility. Fidelity Rewards is not offered as a component of any advisory service or program through Fidelity, including, without limitation, Fidelity® Wealth Services and Fidelity® Strategic Disciplines. While there are no program enrollment fees, eligible managed accounts are charged an advisory fee.

Upgrade Triple Cash Rewards

1 Cash back rewards are earned when you pay eligible purchases back. Your cash back will typically be applied to your balance after your next scheduled monthly payment. Purchases in Home, Auto, and Health categories earn 3% cash back when you pay them back; all other purchases earn 1% with no maximum. Merchants are assigned a merchant category code (MCC) based on the kinds of products and services they primarily sell. We group similar MCCs into categories for purposes of making rewards available to you, but we do not assign MCCs. Merchants set their own MCC, therefore purchases may not fall into the category where you might expect them to appear. For more information on merchant categories, please click here. Cash back rewards applied to your balance will not satisfy or reduce your regular monthly payments. Payments on non-purchase transactions, such as sending funds electronically to your bank account, are not eligible to earn rewards. Some limitations apply. Please refer to your Cardholder Agreement for more information. Rewards associated with the Upgrade Card, when applicable, are provided by Upgrade, Inc.

2 Credit Lines opened through Upgrade feature APRs of 8.99% - 29.99% and line amounts ranging $500 - $50,000. The lowest rates require Autopay and the majority of the line amounts will be $25,000 or under. For example, a $5,000 transaction with a 36 month term and a 19.99% APR has a required monthly payment of $187.90. The APR on your draw may be higher or lower. Your rate, line amount, and default term depend on maintaining a qualifying credit score, your credit usage history, requested amount, and other factors.

3 The Upgrade Card cannot be used at an ATM.

4 Earn unlimited 1.5% back in bitcoin rewards when you make payments on your purchases. Payments on non-purchase transactions, such as sending funds electronically to your bank account, are not eligible to earn rewards. Your bitcoin will be purchased within 1-2 statement periods from the date your payment is received. The value of the bitcoin purchase will be based on the reference rate at the time of the bitcoin purchase. Your bitcoin cannot be transferred to a separate wallet. You will be subject to an initial 90-day holding period after the first bitcoin purchase on your account, during which time your bitcoin cannot be sold. Sales of bitcoin are subject to a 1.5% transaction fee which will be deducted from your sale proceeds. Sale proceeds are redeemable only in the form of statement credit. Additional limitations apply. Please refer to the Program Terms and Conditions and your Cardholder Agreement for more information.
Bitcoin services and accounts provided by NYDIG. See NYDIG Terms. NYDIG does not support bitcoin services and accounts in all states. Rewards associated with the Upgrade Card, when applicable, are provided by Upgrade, however Upgrade does not engage in any bitcoin services.

* There are no account fees, overdraft fees, annual fees, or transfer fees associated with Rewards Checking accounts. Rewards Checking charges no ATM fees, but third-party institutions may charge you a fee if you use their ATM/network or if you use your Upgrade VISA® Debit Card internationally. Upgrade will rebate any ATM fee charged by another institution for debit card withdrawals in the United States, up to five times per calendar month. To be eligible to receive third-party ATM fee rebates in any calendar month for eligible ATM withdrawals made during that month, customers must have (i) an open Rewards Checking account and (ii) either maintained an average daily balance in their account of at least $2,500 in the prior calendar month or made direct deposits into their account totaling at least $1,000 during the prior calendar month. As a courtesy to new customers, Upgrade will provide third-party ATM fee rebates for up to the first 2 calendar months after account opening regardless of account activity. Some limitations apply. Please refer to the applicable Cross River Bank Deposit Account Agreement and Upgrade VISA® Debit Card Agreement and Disclosures for more information.

** Rewards Checking customers earn 2% cash back on common everyday expenses at convenience stores, drugstores, restaurants and bars - including deliveries - and gas stations, as well as recurring payments on utilities and monthly subscriptions including phone, cable, TV and other streaming services, and 1% cash back on all other debit card charges. 2% cash back is limited to $500 in rewards per calendar year; after $500, customers earn 1% cash back on all eligible debit card charges for the remainder of the year. Some limitations apply. Please refer to the applicable Upgrade VISA® Debit Card Agreement and Disclosures for more information.

*** The interest rate on a new loan or credit line through Upgrade may be up to 20% lower than would otherwise be applicable without this discount, as long as you have an active Rewards Checking Account. Additional terms may apply. Please refer to the applicable Truth-in-Lending Disclosure and Loan Agreement.

† Accept your loan offer and your funds will be sent to your bank or designated account within one (1) business day of clearing necessary verifications. Availability of the funds is dependent on how quickly your bank processes the transaction. From the time of approval, funds sent directly to you should be available within one (1) business day. Funds sent directly to pay off your creditors may take up to 2 weeks to clear, depending on the creditor.

Personal loans made through Upgrade feature APRs of 5.94%-35.97%. All personal loans have a 2.9% to 8% origination fee, which is deducted from the loan proceeds. Lowest rates require Autopay and paying off a portion of existing debt directly. Loans feature repayment terms of 24 to 84 months. For example, if you receive a $10,000 loan with a 36-month term and a 17.98% APR (which includes a 14.32% yearly interest rate and a 5% one-time origination fee), you would receive $9,500 in your account and would have a required monthly payment of $343.33. Over the life of the loan, your payments would total $12,359.97. The APR on your loan may be higher or lower and your loan offers may not have multiple term lengths available. Actual rate depends on credit score, credit usage history, loan term, and other factors. Late payments or subsequent charges and fees may increase the cost of your fixed rate loan. There is no fee or penalty for repaying a loan early.

Information about our state licenses can be found here.

Review: Our Thoughts On the Merrick Bank Credit Cards

Merrick Bank offers three credit card products: the Merrick Bank Double Your Line™ Platinum Visa® Credit Card, the Merrick Bank Secured Visa® Credit Card and the Merrick Bank Visa® Card. Unlike points or cash back cards, these cards do not feature any rewards. Instead, they are focused on customers with limited access to credit or those looking to improve their credit histories. While Merrick Bank does report your payment history to all three credit bureaus—which helps cardholders build credit—it is not worth paying the exorbitant fees for this service. This is especially true when you compare the Merrick Bank cards to other bad credit credit cards that have no annual fee.

Annual FeeUp to $0 - $72 for the first year, then up to $8 per month$36 for the first year. Billed $3 per month thereafter.Up to $96 for the first year, then up to $8 per month

Setup FeeUp to $75NoneUp to $75

Note: Merrick Bank does not provide the current rates and fees for the Merrick Bank Double Your Line™ Platinum Visa® Credit Card and the Merrick Bank Visa® Card. The details we note above were gathered from previous credit card agreements and may differ from the current pricing information for these cards.

Merrick Bank's cards differ from other card issuers' products because the Merrick Bank Double Your Line™ Platinum Visa® Credit Card and the Merrick Bank Visa® Card are only available to those who have received a preapproved mail offer. However, if you want one of these cards, then one potential option is to sign up for the Merrick Bank Secured Visa® Credit Card and then request an upgrade. Card issuers often do this for their customers, especially if they've consistently paid their bills on time each month. That being said, we advise that most consumers should avoid the Merrick Bank cards entirely.

Merrick Bank Credit Card Details

Below, we take an in-depth look at all of Merrick Bank's credit card offerings.

Merrick Bank Double Your Line™ Platinum Visa® Credit Card

The Merrick Bank Double Your Line™ Platinum Visa® Credit Card's distinguishing features—true to its name—is that its credit line will double if you make at least your minimum payment for the first seven months your account is open. For example, if you start with an initial credit line of $500 and you make make seven on-time minimum payments, then your credit line may increase to $1,000. This can lower your credit utilization, which has a positive effect on your credit score.

The Merrick Bank Double Your Line™ Platinum Visa® Credit Card comes with a lot of fees for a card that has little to offer outside of credit building. These include:

  • A one-time setup fee of up to $75
  • An annual fee of up to $0 - $72 for the first year, and up to $8 per month thereafter
  • Up to $12 per additional card

Because of these high upfront costs, the Merrick Bank Double Your Line™ Platinum Visa® Credit Card falls into the category of cards known as "fee harvesters," which are typically aimed at consumers with limited access to credit cards. That's not to say that the Merrick Bank Double Your Line™ Platinum Visa® Credit Card can't help you build credit. But you'll be better off with a secured card with no annual fee like the Capital One Platinum Secured Credit Card.

Bottom Line:

We do not recommend the Merrick Bank Double Your Line™ Platinum Visa® Credit Card because of its high fees. Instead, you should consider the Capital One Platinum Secured Credit Card, which is a secured card with a minimum deposit of $49, $99 or $200. Cardholders can also get a higher credit limit after only five months of making on-time payments—two fewer months than with the Merrick Bank Double Your Line™ Platinum Visa® Credit Card.

Merrick Bank Secured Visa® Credit Card

Unless you have received a preapproval in the mail, the Merrick Bank Secured Visa® Credit Card will be the only Merrick Bank credit card that you have access to. Secured credit cards differ from other credit cards because they require a security deposit to be approved. Initially, your credit line will be equal to the amount that you deposit, which can be anywhere between $200 and $3,000.

As far as secured cards go, the Merrick Bank Secured Visa® Credit Card stands out because of its annual fee of $36 for the first year. Billed $3 per month thereafter. There's not much reason to get the Merrick Bank Secured Visa® Credit Card when there are other secured cards with no annual fee that are available to people with Limited/Bad/Poor credit history.

You could use this card as a stepping stone to one of Merrick's unsecured cards—the Merrick Bank Double Your Line™ Platinum Visa® Credit Card or the Merrick Bank Visa® Card. While this is a perfectly valid way to potentially access these cards, we still don't recommend it because those cards also offer poor value.

Bottom Line:

The $36 for the first year. Billed $3 per month thereafter. annual fee on the Merrick Bank Secured Visa® Credit Card makes it a tough sell, as other secured cards are available to those with poor credit and have no annual fee.

Merrick Bank Visa® Card

Of the three Merrick Bank cards, the Merrick Bank Visa® Card is the one that has the least to offer. The Merrick Bank Visa® Card features the same fee structure as the Merrick Bank Double Your Line™ Platinum Visa® Credit Card, without the "double your line" benefit. This makes the card quite expensive—with a potential initial cost of up to $171 between the setup fee and the annual fee, which is 4.5 times greater than the $36 for the first year. Billed $3 per month thereafter. initial cost of the Merrick Bank Secured Visa® Credit Card.

Bottom Line:

The Merrick Bank Visa® Card is the worst of a bad bunch, and we do not recommend that you get it. Those considering this card should consider other credit cards for poor credit, which we discuss below.

Cards We Like More Than the Merrick Bank Credit Cards

Here are some cards we would recommend ahead of the Merrick Bank credit cards.

Discover it® Secured Credit Card

Compared to the Merrick Bank cards, the Discover it® Secured Credit Card comes out way ahead because of its potential rewards and its lack of an annual fee. Discover it® Secured Credit Card cardholders can earn 2% cash back at Gas Stations and Restaurants on up to $1,000 in combined purchases each quarter, 1% unlimited cash back on all other purchases - automatically. After eight months, Discover will review your account and may transition you to a card with no security deposit. Like all secured cards, the Discover it® Secured Credit Card will likely be available to you even if you have Limited/Bad/Poor credit history.

Highlights:

Capital One Platinum Secured Credit Card

Those considering the Merrick Bank credit cards will be better off with the Capital One Platinum Secured Credit Card, as it offers the same opportunity for building credit without any setup or annual fee. Furthermore, $49 is all you need to get a $200 initial credit line, which is less than the minimum deposit requirement to get the Merrick Bank Secured Visa® Credit Card. Additionally, Capital One will increase your credit limit after you make five on-time minimum monthly payments. That's two fewer months than required with the Merrick Bank Double Your Line™ Platinum Visa® Credit Card.

Highlights:

  • Pay a minimum security deposit of $49
  • The card currently offers a refundable minimum security deposit of $49, $99 or $200. (You’ll need access to an authorized bank account to pay the security deposit.)
  • Pay $0 annual fee.

Merrick Bank Secured Visa® 2021 Review

The Merrick Bank Secured Visa® is a good secured credit card, but other options may be better. Namely, we want to take a look at secured credit cards that offer similar benefits without requiring an annual fee.

Merrick Bank Secured Visa® vs. Capital One Platinum Secured Credit Card

The Capital One Platinum Secured Credit Card is meant for consumers that want to build their credit. It requires a refundable security deposit of $49, $99, or $200 depending on an applicant’s creditworthiness to receive an initial credit line of $200. Applicants who are able to deposit more money upfront can receive a higher credit line. An automatic credit line review will have your account considered for a higher credit line in as little as six months.

You can pick your own monthly due date, establish autopay, and set personalized email or text reminders of account alerts.

There is $0 annual fee and no foreign transaction fee.

Merrick Bank Secured Visa® vs. Discover it® Secured Credit Card

Consumers can build their credit with the Discover it® Secured Credit Card. Upon approval, you’ll deposit an amount equal to your credit line, up to a maximum of $2,500. Payment behavior is reported to all three major credit bureaus to build your credit history. Starting at eight months, your account will receive automatic monthly reviews and with responsible payment behavior your credit card may be converted into an unsecured card.

Beyond the opportunity to build your credit, this secured credit card offers several other benefits: 2% cash back at gas stations and restaurants on up to $1,000 in combined purchases each quarter. Plus, earn unlimited 1% cash back on all other purchases Plus, all cash back rewards are matched at the end of your first year as a cardholder. Merrick Bank Secured Visa® vs. BankAmericard® Secured credit card*

The BankAmericard® Secured Credit Card helps establish, rebuild, and strengthen your credit history. It requires a minimum refundable security deposit of $300 to open your account. There is a maximum security deposit and credit limit of $4,900, as determined by a combination of your deposit, income, and ability to pay.

Every month, your free FICO score updates and is available online and through the mobile app. As your credit history builds, Bank of America will periodically review your account. Based on your overall credit history, you may qualify to have your security deposit returned.

We may change APRs, fees, and other Account terms in the future based on your experience with Elan Financial Services and its affiliates as provided under the Cardmember Agreement and applicable law.

Certain transactions are not eligible for Reward Points, including Advances (as defined in the Agreement, including wire transfers, travelers checks, money orders, foreign cash transactions, betting transactions, lottery tickets and ATM disbursements), Annual Fee, convenience checks, balance transfers, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, overdraft advances, interest charges, fees, credit insurance charges, transactions to fund certain prepaid card products, U.S. Mint purchases, or transactions to purchase cash convertible items.

7.

Cardmembers are bank of america global wealth and investment management internship for merrick credit card bill pay cost of any goods or services purchased by the Visa Signature Concierge on cardmembers’ behalf.

8. Assets in other registration types, such as irrevocable trusts, partnerships, or LLCs, will not be included when determining program eligibility.

Note: Merrick Bank does not provide the current rates and fees for the Merrick Bank Double Your Line™ Platinum Visa® Credit Card and the Merrick credit card bill pay Bank Visa® Card.

For example, if you start with marriott hotel san jose initial credit line of $500 and you make make seven on-time minimum payments, then your credit line may increase to $1,000.

As members 1st as secured cards go, the Merrick Bank Secured Visa® Credit Card stands out because of its annual fee of $36 for the first year. Billed $3 per month thereafter. There's not much reason to get the Merrick Bank Secured Visa® Credit Card when there are other secured cards with no annual fee that are available to people with Limited/Bad/Poor credit history.

You could use this card as a stepping stone to one of Merrick's unsecured cards—the Merrick Bank Double Your Line™ Community state bank poteau ok Visa® Credit Card or the Merrick Bank Visa® Card.

The Merrick Bank Visa® Card is the worst of a bad bunch, usaa general indemnity claims phone number we do not recommend that you get it.

That's merrick credit card bill pay fewer months than required with the Merrick Bank Double Your Line™ Platinum Visa® Credit Card.

Your cash back never expires and you can redeem your rewards for cash in any amount and at any time. You’ll also receive your FICO credit score for free on your monthly statements, online and in the mobile app.

You can sign up for account alerts via text or email for when payments are due and payments are made. Plus, you can access your account online and through a mobile app. You may link your secured credit card to your Bank of America checking account for overdraft protection. In addition, the bank offers a $0 liability guarantee for fraudulent transactions. Although this card does have a 3% foreign transaction fee, there is $0 annual fee.

LIRR and Metro-North fares

See details about Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad fares, how and where to buy tickets, what our refund policies are, and more.

Off peak fares are valid on all trains

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Off-Peak fares remain in effect on all trains, including during traditional peak travel times, through December 31, 2021.

More coronavirus service information

About railroad fares

  • Peak fares are charged during business rush hours on any weekday train scheduled to arrive in NYC terminals between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. or depart NYC terminals between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. On Metro-North trains, peak fares also apply to travel on any weekday train that leaves Grand Central Terminal between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m.
  • Off-peak fares are charged all other times on weekdays, all day Saturday and Sunday, and on holidays.
  • Use our trip planner to find fare information. Get schedules and directions and see whether a trip is during peak or off-peak hours.
  • Exact fares depend on your trip. The easiest way to see what your trip will cost is by using our trip planner or the MTA eTix app.
    • If you prefer to not use an app, see our fare tables.

Plan a trip to see fares.

  • Most ticket types are the same on the Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad, but there are some exceptions.
  • Each railroad station is assigned a fare zone. Tickets are valid to any station in the listed zone.
    • For example, Penn Station to Hicksville can be used for Atlantic Terminal to Massapequa Park.
  • Trains operate on a weekend schedule on these holidays: New Year's Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Off-peak fares are valid all day on these holidays. On Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the day after Thanksgiving, the Long Island Rail Road will run a weekday schedule and Metro-North Railroad will run a Saturday schedule, with off peak fares valid on all trains. On three additional holidays – Good Friday, Election Day and Columbus Day – we will run weekday service, but Reduced-Fare tickets will be accepted on a.m. peak trains.
  • The easiest way to buy tickets is with the MTA eTix app on your phone. Download it from the Apple App Store or Google Play store.

Learn more about the eTix app.

  • On Saturdays and Sundays through November 21, monthly ticket holders may bring up to four additional travelers for only $1 per person each way.
